The Weekly Walk: Did We Mention We Love Dogs?

The Weekly WalkThe trail for our Weekly Walk has been set, and now we’re hoping you will walk it with us. We’ve got our leashes in our mouths. Our tails are wagging. We’re whining. Please, oh please walk with us!

Article of the Week: Charlie

Meet Charlie. He’s hoping to be adopted this holiday season. He’s a smart little two-year-old, who needs some help getting housebroken, and would love for you to teach him, play with him, walk with him, hang out and watch movies with him. More important, he’d love you to love him. If you want more details about our four-pawed friend, contact us via email (info@chicago-dogwalkers.com) or phone (773.394.9961). Charlie looks forward to hearing from you!

Obie Weight-loss Update

Obie is down to 56 pounds as of Tuesday! Things seem to be going quite well aside from the legal troubles. Best wishes to him that everything works out in his interest.

Friday Fun: Make a Mutt

Experience a kinder, more canine version of Victor Frankenstein’s life by making dogs from multiple dogs. Animal Planet’s Mutt Maker lets you choose a head, body, legs, and tail for your new breed. You can also add accessories, get a certificate to legalize your new dog, and enter her in Best of Show.

Thank you for taking the Weekly Walk with us. Bark below, on Twitter, or Facebook. Woof!

The Weekly Walk: When Dogs and Birds Unite

Another week come. Another week gone. And with it goes a week of our Twitter and Facebook postings. Since we really enjoyed sharing them, we’ve decided to reattach the leash to a handful for another walk around the block. Today, we revisit a dog lost on a train, a quote about training, a confusing command, and a photo to make birds fear. We cap off the walk with a new bit of Friday Fun.

Article of the Week: To Bark or to Tweet

Skeptical of Twitter’s usefulness? We know a dog and an owner who never will be. The Jack Russell terrier Patch was lost on a train heading to Dublin. Railway staff tweeted photos of the dog, which other Twitter users retweeted. Over five hundred tweets later, the owner recognized her pet and contacted the railway staff. Quote of the Week

“Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.” -Corey Ford

Command of the Week

Yar Blar: A command to confuse your pooch when she barks like a mad dog. It should have her turning her head at you in puzzlement. Passerby may stop and stare as well.

Wings are for the birds. Or so we thought.

Sunday isn’t the only game day. Click this link to be walked to Animal Planet’s “Guess the Breed” game. A portion of a dog will load, along with a hint, and you have to guess which breed it is. There are ten questions. Answer them all correctly and you receive the right to brag about it to friends, family, or even here in the comments below.

We hope you enjoyed the stroll. You can review past articles, quotes, and more from the week on our Facebook and Twitter profiles. Let us know of any interesting animal-related articles that you want us to share with followers, and we’ll see what we can do. Until then, keep on walking. Woof!
